My first attraction to quilting was the book Perfect Patchwork Primer by Beth Gutcheon that showed well over 100 traditional blocks in black and white print.  I found that recreating them on graph paper in sets of four and changing the value of each section created secondary and even tertiary patterns.  How fun!  I was hooked.

Having begun quilting in the early 1970’s, this love of quilting really took hold when I joined the Cobblestone Quilt Guild in Charleston, SC.  In 2005, I left my corporate job and opened LTL Quilts, a longarm business creating high-end custom machine quilting for myself and clients in Charleston.  We all earned many pretty ribbons in local and national quilting shows.

I have been fortunate enough to take machine quilting classes from some of the best:  Linda Taylor, Karen McTavish, Ricky Tims, Nicole Webb, Sharon Schamber, Cindy Needham, Renae Haddadin, Anita Shackelford, and Judy Allen.

In addition to winning Best of Show, Best Hand-Guided Machine Quilting, Best Embellishment, Viewers’ Choice, and numerous 1st Place awards in regional quilt shows, I have also won a 1st at National Quilters’ Association (NQA), the Teacher’s Award at Machine Quilters’ Showcase (MQS), and 3rd at Machine Quilters’ Expo (MQX), and American Quilters’ Society (AQS).
